In case you hadn't guessed yet, this is the small suprise I hinted at in yesterday's post. One of the reasons the shortlist took so long is I was trying to get the trailer just right (like last year's awesome video), so I hope you enjoy the result. If you like the way it turned out, let me know, I'm always happy to know something I worked hard on was enjoyed:
(for thsoe who would rather watch on YouTube, you can find it here).
For those of you who don't watch videos, or the link isn't working, here's the shortlist in text form:
Academy 7
Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy
Intrinsical
John Belushi Is Dead
Kathleen's Story (Angels in Pink)
Keeping Corner
Keturah And Lord Death
Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City
Ophelia
Out of My Mind
Polly and the Pirates, Volume 1
Some Girls Are
Song Of The Sparrow
StarCrossed
Stork
Storm Thief
Stravaganza: City Of Masks
The Devil's Kiss
The Grimm Legacy
The Hollow Kingdom
The Thin Executioner
Threads and Flames
Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress
Whale Talk
So what now? Judge confirmation emails will be going out in the next day or two and after a (hopefully) brief organization period, we'll get Round 2 of the battle underway!

Very awesome trailer! I love how dramatic it is, haha. =)
Can't wait to see which books I'll be reading for Round 2.
Well, I've read two of these all ready and have actually heard of most of these. Not bad.
What a great trailer! And my word! I so loved Keturah and Lord Death and Top 10 Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress. It saddens me that these books are overlooked. I hope this will gain them more readers.
Love the trailer-what a fun surprise!
I'm also really pleased with the books for Round 2-I championed some of those and I cannot wait for other people to be introduced to them!
The trailer was awesome- you should be very proud!
Can I just say how excited I am to be judging round 2? Seriously. :D
Great job on the trailer!

Love the trailer (so dramatic and appropriate for a book *battle*!) and the shortlist looks great! I can't wait to get started!
